Does Your High-Tech Video Need Animation?

Video marketing is a perfect fit for companies that produce a high-tech product – such as the biotechnology, robotics, high-tech manufacturing, and nanotechnology sectors – because “how it works” is generally part of the marketing process, and no medium is better than video at explaining how something works. But sometimes the product is too small, or the product operates in a video-unfriendly environment, and video by itself can't give a good understanding of how it works.  In those cases, adding an animation component to your video can make all the difference.

One of our clients, PVD Products, builds ultra-high vacuum chambers that operate with lasers and other deposition sources. The inside of a PVD Products chamber cannot be filmed during operation, because the chamber is closed and under vacuum.  Watch this video to see how animation makes possible a clear understanding of exactly what’s happening inside the chamber.

 

If knowing “how it works” is important for your product, and video alone can’t capture your product in operation, talk to your production company about adding an animation component to your videos.

Not only does animation make it easier to understand certain concepts, but it adds to the professionalism of the video, which is obviously good for marketing. No one will take you or or product seriously if it doesn't have production value that shows that you put time and effort into properly showing it to your audience.

Amen, Dan! Thanks for your clear articulation of a concept many businesses struggle with. They want video but don't see the value in what professional video costs. The impact of a properly-produced video is so powerful both for marketing and for direct use as a sales tool - and as you note, a company can do a lot of damage to its brand with poorly-produced 'amateur' video.
